StarTalk Radio, an iTunes Best of 2014 and 2015 podcast hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson and affiliated with the Emmy-nominated National Geographic series StarTalk, has selected Zype to power its new subscription video on demand (SVOD) network. StarTalk All-Access launches first on web and Amazon Fire TV and will be followed by channels on Apple TV and Roku in October.
“We created StarTalk All-Access for our most dedicated audience of space and science enthusiasts,” said Neil deGrasse Tyson, Host of StarTalk Radio and Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. “StarTalk All-Access is an immersive, premium content experience that rewards all of the viewers who supported our early initiatives through Patreon and other social channels. Zype came to us highly recommended by trusted colleagues who had launched their own premium content services. With their solution, we can now educate and entertain on any platform.”
The well-known StarTalk brand is active across multiple channels, including:
StarTalk Radio, a successful podcast for seven seasons, earning a spot on the coveted iTunes Best of 2014 and 2015 lists for top podcasts.
StarTalk TV, which has recently embarked on its third season of the Emmy-nominated TV show on National Geographic.
StarTalk All-Stars, a new spin-off space and science podcast and radio show hosted by a revolving slate of all-star scientists and science educators including Bill Nye the Science Guy, Dr. Carolyn Porco, Dr. David Grinspoon and Dr. Mike Massimino.
StarTalk Live!, a roadshow that brings the StarTalk experience to life onstage across the country in premier venues like New York City’s historic Beacon Theatre and popular festivals like SF Sketchfest.
StarTalk All-Access is the universal hub for the award-winning show about “everything under the universe” and is the ad-free way to enjoy hundreds of podcasts and videos featuring Neil deGrasse Tyson, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and the StarTalk All-Stars.
The StarTalk All-Access subscribers on web, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV will have exclusive ad-free versions of the entire StarTalk Radio and StarTalk All-Stars podcast library and live streamed episodes of the StarTalk Live! Show, in both audio and video formats (where they exist).
“A premium subscription service is the natural progression for an influencer such as Neil deGrasse Tyson,” said Ed Laczynski, Founder and CEO of Zype. “Neil’s work with PBS, National Geographic, StarTalk Radio, and more recently YouTube, has made him one of the most recognizable faces in science. Zype provides the StarTalk team with the tools they need to make this content more accessible, while simultaneously creating a one-on-one relationship with the individual viewer. As big fans of Neil’s work, we are proud to support these efforts and provide the solution that makes this content available to anyone who has an interest in science.”
Zype powers the StarTalk All-Access SVOD service across OTT including web, Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Zype’s complete solution for OTT video management, distribution, live streaming, and monetization allows StarTalk Radio to focus on creating premium content with Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye the Science Guy and bring in additional popular scientists and science educators like Carolyn Porco, David Grinspoon and Mike Massimino. StarTalk Radio can broaden their reach and catapult fun and mind-blowing scientific knowledge to the curious and eager-to-learn in new and entertaining ways. StarTalk All-Access is available for $4.99 per month or $49.90 per year.
